Sustainably Sourced Details

We recognize the importance of incorporating environmental stewardship into our business practices. We have ensured each product in this assortment meets at least 1 of our 9 key attributes.

How We Create a Sustainable Footprint

Demonstrating our commitment to sustainable practices, NBF is proud to announce we achieved a score of HIGH on the 2023 Wood Furniture Scorecard. The scorecard—an initiative of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC)—encourages furniture retailers to implement robust policies that drive responsible wood-sourcing practices. But our dedication transcends just our sustainably sourced products.

We incorporate environmentally friendly practices throughout our operations. With a vision for the future, we continually gauge our environmental imprint, refine our ecological impact, enhance our social contributions and fortify our economic resilience for the betterment of generations to come.

Catalog and Marketing

We’re committed to reducing waste, use of recyclable and reusable materials, responsible printing and mailings and communicating our environmental principles to stakeholders.

Paper Procurement

We support responsible forestry practices by utilizing PEFCTM (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) paper to ensure the long-term sustainability of forests and other natural resources.

Social Responsibility

We care for our community through NBF’s employee resource group, BOLD, which focuses on employee diversity, equity, and inclusion awareness and education efforts, as well as community service.

Carbon Neutral Delivery

NBF’s freight is carbon neutral via carbon offsets, which use the American Carbon Registry, Climate Action Reserve and Verra to certify carbon credits and offset projects.
